Thank you
In 1868, a local solicitor named George Lamb gave Overton a gift: he financed the building of our National School – the handsome flint-and-brick building that, more than 150 years later, still stands at the heart of village life as Overton Community Centre.
That spirit of generosity is where our story begins – and it is the same spirit that keeps the centre going today. The building’s care, maintenance and upkeep still rests entirely on the generosity of our community: the people who give their time, their support and their enthusiasm. To everyone who plays a part – whether you visit once a year or help out every week – we are deeply grateful.
Our Members
Thank you to all our Members, whose ongoing support gives the centre a strong and steady foundation it needs. Your commitment makes everything else possible.
Our Volunteers
Thank you to the volunteers who give their time, energy and skills so freely to keep our events running smoothly. You are the heart of this place.
Our Donors
Thank you to everyone who has donated, large or small. Every contribution helps us preserve our heritage building and keep it open and thriving for the whole community.
Our Users
Our warmest thanks to all the individuals and groups who have hired a room with us – your bookings keep the centre busy, useful and at the centre of village life.
And to everyone who takes part in the many activities held here – the clubs, classes, celebrations and gatherings – thank you for bringing the building to life.
A special thank you to Overton Radio for their support and for helping share the centre’s story with our wider community.
With Grateful Thanks to Our Supporters
We are sincerely grateful to the following organisations, whose grants, donations and support of all kinds help to keep the running of Overton Community Centre more sustainable.
